I have been in love with tattooing long before I could even write my own name. I grew up watching my Father tattoo in the early 90’s on St Marks in New York City before it was even legalized. I got the opportunity to see tattooing in a very different setting; scary and underground in the big city before I was old enough to understand much of what was going on. While keeping myself busy upfront I could see people come into the shop scared, excited, and unsure. Just a short while later I watched that client walking out of the shop with a brand new tattoo, along with a huge smile and new story to carry with them forever. It was seeing that impact you could have on a complete stranger’s life that had me hooked; The ability to collaborate as an artist with someone’s ideas and stories to form a unique piece of art they can wear proudly anywhere is a power that no other art form allows.

I take pride in every tattoo I am given the opportunity to do, it is an honor to be able to hear my clients’ stories and be trusted to tattoo them. I always approach tattooing methodically in everything from small simple tattoos to complex ones that may take multiple sessions to complete. I would like to grow into a well-rounded artist versed in most genres of tattooing. I’m extremely passionate about my work, so no matter what the subject matter is, if my hands are busy and I’m happy.

I do not do tattoos without black lines, I believe in a solid foundation. I stray away from realism projects, or any placements on the neck, hands, or face.
I started my apprenticeship under both my father Thomas Murphy and Johann Florendo and came to Red Rocket in 2012 to further my infinite quest for knowledge. Under the watchful eye of both Adam Hays and Mike Bellamy I have grown tremendously at Red Rocket Tattoo and cannot wait to see what the future holds. They have been like an adoptive family and continue to help me grow and teach me more tips of the trade. I am surrounded by so many influential people who are so passionate about what they do who have been so informative and inspiring. I am beyond grateful to have so many talented artists with such amazing attitudes in my life and every day for the opportunities I have been given.
